United turn to eBay for Sponsorship

Blackburn United Football Club has turned to eBay in a unique approach to finding a sponsor for the club’s home kit. The club have launched an online auction with the winning bidder having their name or logo on the club’s home shirt from now until the end of the 2012/13 season. 

Club President, Ian McGinty said:  “We believe it is the first time a football club has turned to the online auction site, eBay, in its search for sponsorship funding.  We all know times are tough in the current economic climate, so we hope to harness the power of the worldwide web to help us find a sponsor for our home shirts.”
